Painting, Flooring,Tile, and Finishing the Bathroom

Finally after all of the drywall has been sanded, re spackled, sanded again and dried it's time to paint.  As usual Mike does all the rolling and I do all of the cut in.

A little help to get things dry:)

We picked out a large porcelain tile for the tub surround.  Mike is cutting it using his cut off wheel.

Taped up so it doesn't fall off the wall while the mortar/thinset dries.

Next up the flooring.  We chose a darker wood grained Luxury vinyl tile that is waterproof. This one was super easy to install. I did the installation and Mike did al of the cuts for me:)

It was super easy and fast to install:)

Next up the bathroom.

Nice and clean.  There is nothing quite like a brand new bathroom:)

Time for Drywall...Ugh!!

And back to a job that both Mike and I hate, lol.  It is messy and very time consuming.  This time we got a cool new gadget to make it a little easier on ourselves:)

Next up is the bathroom area.  Cement board for the future tile:

The fan and ducting is complete.

The office/living area has ben spackled and sanded.  Amazing how fast that was, lol.  The drying time is killer.

And back to the bathroom.

Well that was a very fast catch up.  Who wants to see tons of pictures on that job, lol.  It's kind of boring, very tedious and time consuming, lol.  Next up....time to paint, install the toilet, vanity and do the flooring.

Making An Office And Bathroom Inside The Barn/Building

Good morning.  After 2 years I think I need to catch up.  So let's go back in time to when we started building on this Florida property.  We have approval for a barn with an office so that is our first step.

Let's get to the office part and then Mike and I can move out of the van:)

First step is to build the walls for the rooms.

One main area and a bathroom and closet.

Mike running the electric wire through the studs on the walls.

Getting the 2x4(studs) in place to hold the plumbing for the tub.

Ah...and Lisa's favorite job, lol.  Yes I am strange.

I do the insulation while Mike does the all the electric and plumbing.

Mike running the Pex(water lines) through the walls and ceiling.

Vent pipe for the future washing machine.

Installing a bathroom fan.

Success:)  Mike testing to make sure the water works and there are no leaks.

 Hot and Cold water lines are in for the washer.

And the venting out through the ceiling and roof.

I did the all the pipe insulation.  I've liked that job since the time Mike and I built our first house together back in 1999:)

Ok so this was short and sweet.  I have a lot of mixed pictures to go through and organize.  We are building a farm and a life here.  I will post again tomorrow morning and then every few days or so until we are caught up.

January 2018...Taking a Walk, Planting Grass Seed and Putting Shingles on the Roof

Hello all.  I hope all of my followers had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  This is what Mike and I did last January.  I need to get caught up before 2018 is over, lol.

I love the trees and fields at the back of our property...and it is flat:)

OK...time for some work.   Mike is digging out some of the sand that is too high along the house so we can seed:

And hay.  We can't find straw here but there is a ton of hay around:

I'm on the roof.  Mike throws the shingle packs up to me and I spread them out on the roof:

Moving right along.  We have our system.  Mike nails the shingles down using a roofing coil gun while I line the shingles up:

Sadly I have been slacking in the camera department.  As I look back I cannot find a picture of the other side completed.  Anyway it took us 3 days to shingle the entire roof.
