Our New Boy, Logan, and His Own Separate Pen

We have been looking for a male goat to breed to our girls when they come of age.  I found a very cute boy but he is far away.  I made a deal with the seller and she is meeting us halfway.  He has been raised with a family with kids so is friendly which is very good.

Meet Logan.

We picked him up in August of 2018.  Here he is riding home in the back of the Jeep:)

For now he is sharing the pen with the chickens.  It took us a couple of days to get the chickens moved into the barn.

Of course the girls are very curious.

The chickens are moved into the barn with the girls.  Now it's time to build Logan his new quarters.  We used two kennels put together to make a 10x20 area.  This is his sanctuary.  He does come out to graze each day for a few hours while the girls hang inside the barn.

The two kennels are put together and we are building a top to keep him dry and shaded.

Mike screwing down the metal roof panels.

We are using up some of our leftover panels.

Last panel going on.  Logan's new home is all set.

We moved Logan over and let the girls out.

Each day he does come out to graze and we let Mama out with him.  She is old enough to be bred.  To get him back in Mike feeds him:)

Mike taking him back.

Up on his spool waiting for food.

And a really cute video to show you how happy Logan is to go back into his pen and get food:)

I am getting caught up in stories.  The next two will wrap up 2018.
